(Livestream Replay) Governing Sensitive Data Using Microsoft Purview - with Anton Fritz

ABSTRACT πŸ“„

In today's fast-paced world, organizations face numerous data protection regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and CCPA, that require them to securely store and share sensitive data. As Power BI increasingly becomes the primary platform for sensitive business data in many organizations, there is a growing need for centralized governance tools that can help organizations identify where sensitive data is stored, classify and label it in accordance with their data protection policies, and protect it as it moves between systems.

In this talk, we will explore the various governance capabilities available for Power BI with Microsoft Purview solutions, including auditing user activities, enabling data owners to label sensitive content with Information Protection sensitivity labels (the same labels used in the Office product family), helping users to be aware of the sensitivity of the reports they consume, and automatically classifying and protecting data as it moves across Synapse, SQL, Power BI, and Office. Additionally, we will discuss how these solutions can help organizations discover and understand their data through the use of data Catalog and data Map
